NHK夜ドラ『あおぞらビール』のオリジナル音楽制作は、ニック・ウッドとSynチームが担当しました。映像に合わせて作曲するのではなく、脚本に書かれた雰囲気や感情の説明だけが制作の手がかりとなりました。映像も絵コンテも一切ない中で、そこにある空気感を音楽へと変換するためには、これまで以上に想像力が求められました。
数か月にわたって制作されたのは、全38曲。オカリナ、ペダル・スティール、スティール・パン、マンドリン、ウクレレなどのライブ楽器の他、世界各地でレコーディングされたストリングスが加わり、物語の風景を引き立てる豊かで奥行きのある楽曲が完成しました。
NHKで放送された『あおぞらビール』は、先週ついに最終回を迎えました。

このたびSoundtrack Music AssociatesのJohn Tempereauさんと備耕庸さんにマネジメントをしていただくことになりました。
私は以前から映画やテレビの世界に強い情熱を抱いており、今回のご縁をきっかけに、グローバルな映像音楽の分野で、いよいよ新しい一歩を踏み出せると感じています。
長年の仲であるJohnさんと再びご一緒できることをとても嬉しく思うと共に、耕庸さんとの新たな出会いにも感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

Greetings everyone and welcome to my new website.
As I write this, Sakura (Cherry Blossom Season) is in full swing in Tokyo, and after several busy months of travelling around the globe, it's a beautiful time to be back in Japan.
I started this website to open a window onto my work as a composer, sharing my music from film, television and
commercials in one dedicated online hub.

I returned from Thailand last week, where I was attending AdFest 2025 alongside Syn Tokyo producers Mathieu Kranich and Kaz Haga. On Thursday March 20th, I had the great pleasure of hosting a session with my friends David Guerrero (BBDOGuerrero) and Arthur Tsang (BBDO Shanghai) on the topic of ‘The Collision of Sound & Vision’. Sharing the stage with these two great friends and creative collaborators was a privilege, and here’s to many more collisions of sound and vision in the future !
Not only was AdFest a great week of connecting with old friends, as well as making new ones, but Syn picked up an AdFest Bronze Lotus Award for our work with BBDO Guerrero for ‘Mountain Dew’. This ‘Play The Dew’ campaign featured the unique voice talents of Rudi Rok (who I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past for the sound of the Fiat 500E among other projects) and this award is wonderful recognition of his exceptional talent.
Congratulations to everyone on the Syn team who worked on this project, and here’s to many more awards as the year rolls on!
